On Another website, a post stated Andy Bayer was seen at the IU football game on crutches and in a walking boot. Anyone know anything about that. If true, probably end of his crosscountry career.

He did not seem to be bothered at Regionals, but I did not get a good look at him with that in mind. It could be something that is precautionary and if it gets better he will be fine. Given the NCAA course, if he has something a bit amiss, it could be tricky if it rains and got slippery, but that seems unlikely, so maybe he will be fine.
It would be a shame for him to miss that race; he is such a great competitor (see NCAA and Trials races!).
Ya. The claim is they saw him the next day after regionals. A walking boot and crutches sounds pretty serious with nationals only a week away. Person saw him said he didn't think he would be able to run. Had a good chance for a top ten Finish. Also IU's team chances are dim without him
It's actually pretty common for runners with borderline injuries to be in a boot and/or on crutches throughout the day, then take it off to practice (or run in the pool). It might be something not so serious that he's taking very carefully, or something more serious that's he determined to run through until nationals.
So I wouldn't take this rumour as a sure sign he'll be out of nats (assuming the rumour is true).
Same person posted this on multiple websites. Sounds like he's just trying to start a rumor.
Not trying to start a rumor, trying.to find out if this is true. I found this on website Indianarunner.com. Then u you go to General area. Then to Listing for Johny Gray goes to nationals. The post was sent from a guy who claimed to have seen Bayer at Iu football game.
Dude, you have posted this on three different message boards. Are you trying to get credit for breaking the story or do you want everyone to know that you are from Fort Wayne and you won the two mile?
I'm not breaking any story. I'm asking a question if this is even true. I don't even know if it is. Wouldnt you agree that if I posted on many sites, I am more apt to get a quicker answer? Since he is from the area, I have followed him closely since high school.
News Sentinel article confirmed this morning that Bayer will not be running NCAA's from an injury sustained during Regionals.
This makes sense. He seemed to have a "i'm hurting" look the last 2k or so in the regional race. I thought maybe he was hurting from the pace but if this is true about him being hurt it all makes sense now.
Any updates on Bayer's condition? He was wearing a boot at the NCAA race banquet in the video that Flotrack posted on its site, but there was no mention of the injury (even though Flotrack brought specific attention to the boot).
This thread is creepy. You should call this the IU stalkers thread.
