19 year old female collegiate xc runner. I've been running better than ever before in my life on tempos and stregth-oriented workouts this season, but currently feel like I have no speed and I haven't run up to par in a single xc race so far, so I'm thinking about running a half marathon in my hometown that's happening right after end of xc season just for the heck of it to see what I can do. That way even if all my races do end up going badly this season at least I should be able to have some good result from my training since I know I'm in great shape for longer distances. Just wanted to see if I could get some opinions on what sort of time you all think I could run based off some workouts:
4 mile tempo run in 24:44 (6:11 pace)
6 mile tempo run at 6:27 pace with big negative split
8 mile progression runs including first mile pretty much as a warm up in 7:2x averaging 6:50ish pace (finishing much faster)
6 x 1k on grass w/60sec. recovery averaging 3:46
13 mile long runs generally in the low to mid 7's without really trying to push the pace; on my last one I finished with a last 4 miles of 6:57, 6:47, 6:22, 6:22 (for the last mile I ran 5:50ish pace for the first .6 of it then cooled down for another .4 to get to 13 after getting back to where we started), and it felt easy until the sub-6 pace part at the very end.
Thanks!
