Deer, beaver (the big teeth, tree gnawing kind), a wild turkey that scared the poop out of me, found a 10$ bill one time about 6 miles into a rarely used trail, a gay photo shoot on a rock overlook, a couple of fat hippie chicks hiking topless (gross)
Last night, I saw two foxes while running through Gunbarell
This is some good stuff you guys have come up with. Not to many wild Turkeys, bear and Moose in Southern California. We got a few of those hippie chicks though!
Saw 3 pygmy goats chasing a homeless man a couple of months ago...
I miss Gunbarell. 6850 Frying Pan Road, still remember my phone # too. I havent lived there since I was 12.

Last week, our group of a bout 8 runners was doing our regular 1.6 mile grass loop we use for interval workouts.
We are in our first rep and taking it easy and I round a corner and look ahead and see a couple in the middle of the trail hangin out on a blanket with a Harley parked next to them. Keep in mind that we are about 1 mile into a trail that usually doesn't get too much traffic, so we are suprised and they are startled also since me and another guy are ahead leading and 8 of us are strung out for 50 meters. As I get closer I see they are half naked, biker clothes all over the trail, and they are tattoed all over the bodies, plus it was two women.
As we finished the loop, we heard the Harley start up and speed off. I guess we freaked them out. at least we had something to talk about.

An oldteammate found a dead female body under leaves in Philly...another teammate saw two males engaged in a physical activity other than running (oral) *cough*...
Me (on different occasions) - huge black bear in West. MD, 30 deer on one run, giant copperhead, huge black snakes, 5 feet from a deer feeding...
I used to run with a group that would do weekend trail runs in a state park. One of the guys in our group was an avid birdwatcher and was always pointing out yellow warblers, yellow-bellied sapsuckers, pileated woodpeckers and whatnot.
One day, we were running on a trail and stumbled across a middle-aged gentleman sunbathing in the altogether. So someone pointed out to our resident birdwatcher: "Hey, did you see that pink bellied shortpecker"?
Grizzly bear killing a calf moose. Wish I could forget it.
spent many a summer training at altitude in the late to mid 60's out in alamosa, co long before it was cool. we used to drive to a place just outside of westcliffe, colorado in the sangre de Cristo mountain range where we would do an 18 miler up an old miner's trail to a bowl at the base of electric peak. we decided to take a different route once and came into banjo valley from the north and no joke came upon a herd of over 150 elk all bedded down in this remote valley. all of them getting up and sprinting into the trees sounded like a jet engine. i've never seen anything like it. (by the way, even ryun was closer to human at altitude- how's that, jim?! ha!)
i saw two peacocks as i was warming up for a xc race. i saw one more (maybe one of those two) as i was running the race as well.
and no, it wasn't in a zoo.
