Who the hell has the stadiums in use today ? Rio doesn't.

Tokyo? Have you been living under a rock?
Washington D.C., assuming Obama clears out the homeless bums that have taken over the city.
New York.
DC not. NY not, Sf not. Atlanta, Montreal, Barcelona, and Beijing tore down their facilities. People don't participate in the odd choice of Oly sports.
LA & Tokyo has dozens of stadiums for each Summer Oly sport in operation today and the affluent society which supports sports participation.

I hate you so, so much. You are the worst part about letsrun, and that's saying quite a lot. F*** you.
I thought they tore out the track at the LA Coliseum to expand seating for the pro football team they don't have.
Sydney.
Surprisingly, probably North Korea.
China probably still does.
The hardest part is having a track inside an 80,000+ seat stadium, something the US does not have.

Didn't they reconfigure the stadium so that the track is no longer usable?
When did they last have a track meeting there? How long would it take them to change it back to an Olympic athletic stadium?
Guadalajara and Mexico City.
Guadalajara just finished hostin the Pan American games which is like an Olympic games on a lower scale.
Mexico City still has the infrastructure as it has hosted 1 Olympic games, 2 World Cups, and 2 Pan American games. I'm sure they could host on the spot.
No place can tomorrow morning.
Beijing ripped out most of the venues.
L.A. needs a week, three days to grade the Coliseum then another 3-4 days to lay a track and field.

Who gives a sh*t? Go away.
LA can. LA is the sports and media center of the world. LA created the 1st global live Olympics, and the 1st profiatble Olympics. The 2012 Olympics are being produced in Los Angeles for world wide distrbution by NBA in Burbank and at dozens of Los Angeles television facilities, and by Youtube up north in Mountain View, CA.

That's fascinating. Could you tell us about Chuck Norris or Tom Cruise or Steve Jobs or Palestine or Oregon or Mongols or Alberto Salazar or USC?
Like we should send the world's best athletes to a country that is as crime-ridden, cartel owned as Mexico??? What, was Yemen or Pakistan not available?????
Look, I love Mexico. Hot women, great food, culture, pyramids, cheap hotels, etc. but you have treated some international athletes who live there like shit. Kenyans, Peruvians, Panamanians, Colombians and even some US athletes poorly and you think that helps you? Que pendejo y tu madre!!
San Francisco
great for rowing and they have candle stick park
Delhi held the Commonwealth Games in 2010, so you'd have thought they would be contenders. Having siad that, by all accounts they did a pretty shoddy job of hosting the commonwealths and there are quite a few different sports.

Los Angeles has the most incredible tradition, training partners, weather, athletes, and suppport staff. No wonder Los Angeles is ready for the Summer Olympics on a moments notice.
Berlin might be ready, but there was something a little off the last time they hosted...
On a similar topic, did anyone notice the peculiar 'wave' a German dignitary was doing when his nation's athletes were doing their lap of the stadium? It wasn't too dissimilar to the one they were doing last time they hosted...
