Billy Orman off to Stanford. Adam Cotton made slow. Shows the quality of their recruiting classes really do not matter. Their roster is at least equally as good as Princeton and Columbia's yet they lag far behind.

There is clearly a major coaching problem there. 100% injury rate very early in the season last fall among the men's cross country starters. In an interview with The Crimson, the coach attributed it to the athletes, citing their 'inexperience.' Yet all of these guys were sub 9 minute 2 milers in high school, and a couple were Foot Locker finalists. He accepted no responsibility. Some of the athletes such as Ruegg were out for the rest of the academic year.
A talented distance runner should avoid this program unless his only reason for going is get the Harvard diploma. For some, this may be worth it. I know Billy took a lot of sh*t when he decided to go there last year, but felt he could run well anywhere - I really hate to see him leave but admire him for having the courage to say No to Harvard. I think the whole situation is a real shame, but the program is definitely not a priority for the athletics department and is unlikely to change.
