Don't forget that although the course itself is fast it also has some sharp turnarounds -- unless they changed them this year.

I've run 2:14:22 so I think a 2:13 something or better yet, 2:12 is doable.
No you haven't.
No it's not.
Agreed. Let's see when he comes back and cries wolf in a week.
If your pr is 2:14:22 Nifty, then who are you? Is this Clint longing for publicity again?
Obviously you don't want to be proven wrong and look like a fool after your predictions, predictions that are total BS at best.
2nd pack in 2:12? 15 guys at 2:12 or faster? There will NOT be 15 guys running 2:12 or faster. List 12 of them for me, please. I am dying to hear their names, as would they (ha, ha, ha!) Running 2:12 pace for "part of the race", hell I can do that!
You are on something for sure as I AM A BETTING MAN unlike others and would take that bet quicker than you could tell a lie on LR!
And yes, this is CoachTrack who has been posting all along but some goofball, probably Nifty, took my handle so I couldn't post under it anymore, hence the 33.
yeah, I talked to hartmann and gotcher during my workout and they both said they are shooting for "big things", 2:04 or better.
thanks for confirming it mr. Nifty as I needed your confirmation to know they are going to do "big things". good luck breaking 3 at boston this april.
like others, i don't believe you either. no one with that pr over the last 4 years

Not to get involved in this man-spat, but according to the IAAF database the only American to run 2:14:22 in the last 10 years was Keith Dowling in 2002, and his best was faster than that. A couple of guys have run 2:14:23 and a few others in the higher 2:14:20's, but no 2:14:22 listed.
I disagree, it's not a man-spat, it's calling someone out who is obviously lying. I just checked as well and my results were the same as yours, no 2:14:22 except Keith's and you are right, he ran faster. So long nifty.
Does anyone have info on the following for both men and women trials qualifiers:
1. Who are the youngest and oldest qualifiers?
2. Which male and female have run the most trials?
I think Josh Cox and Deena Kastor have run the most trials. Check me on that.

Sure Nifty, way to use another alias.
Wow, you sure are stupid, which anyone can see by your continuous stream of rambling nonsensical postings.
I'm not Nifty, and have no idea who he is.
Also I'm retired, not a kid.
It was chip time. Not actual time. Actual time was 3 seconds slower. Houston is based on chip time
Funny that you and Nifty responded at the exact same time. What are the chances?

Why is everyone so high on ritz? Meb has went out with and run with world class marathoners recently, so I think hes got the edge on everyone along with Hall. I have Hall and Meb, and then I think its anybodies game. No way Ritz can hang with either of those two if they spread it out over the last six miles. I like someone who can slosh coming from the back of the chase pack to catch someone like ritz who tries to go with Med/Hall.
But Meb wore himself out in the NYC marathon and then injured his foot and lost training
Yea but is his injury worse then ritz's? I don't think it is. And I know I'm a minority on the forums but I don't believe a marathon from 3 months ago is going to burn out a professional like meb.
Linda Somers Smith and Clint Verran for the most trials?
No Rupp

Yes, impartial observer and nifty are the same poster, obviously. Coachtrack rambling? His/her posts are anything but nonsensical, they are factual. I too agree, you have never broken 3 hours in your life and no 2:14 marathoner comes on here and claims it's his last race and that he's dropping a 2:13 and doesn't share who his is. Please go away now.
Why so high on Ritz? Let's see. He came in second in the Trials in 2007-8; he beat Hall in Beijing to come in ninth in the Olympics; he has made every world team he has tried for; he has the fourth fastest time in the field (and discounting Abdi, the third fastest); he's run 60 flat for the half, a time that suggests the possibility of a much faster marathon than he has run; and he's a tenacious competitor.

You have made yourself out to be not only a fool, but an idiot.
Congratulations.
