Has anyone run with one of these? Is it doable for daily mileage? Product recs?
Thanks!

Why would you want to run with an iphone strapped to your arm? Nothing spells douchebag better.
Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is by far the best cell phone on the market but it's not a running device.
You want music? Get an iPod Shuffle.
You want GPS? Get a Garmin.
I run to work for my commute - and it would be cool to have my cell phone at work...instead of being unreachable 10hours a day.
But yeah I know - dbaggy for sure.
1) It's very dangerous to run (around cars) with music.
2) It's not a good look for a guy. Really.
to clarify - i would not be listening to music. I just want a way to carry my phone to work.
A lot of people run with them so I suppose there are enough people that like them. I downloaded a GPS tracker/running log app and wanted to try it out. I borrowed my wife's iPhone holder and ran a 8 miler.
HATED IT. That thing is HUGE! I am not against running with music as I have a very little mp3 player that I run with occasionally. The sheer size of the iphone though makes it a 'don't do' for serious runners. A short easy recovery run would be fine, but anything over that sucks.
Plus, the material, neoprene, is not sweat proof and my phone was pretty wet by the time I got done. If I was going to run with one on a daily basis I would find a way to make my iPhone waterproof (put it inside a plastic bag or something).
So, you don't have to change once you get to work? How does that work out?
I have a shower and a locker which I keep stocked with fresh clothes - I drive them in on the weekends.
So it seems like it's a no-go?
Well, since you don't have to carry anything in with you...there are these really thin fanny pack/money belts you can get from luggage/travel stores. They are designed to be worn under your clothes. You could plastic bag the phone and throw it in the pack.

If you are just running to work it may work for you. As I said earlier, easy running would be OK, hard workout or long runs, not so much.
Buy one at a department store, keep the receipt, try it out and take it back if you don't like it.
I use a spibelt for weeks that I'm on-call.
I don't listen to music, though, but just carry my phone. It's so small that nobody will notice and you won't look like an iJogger.
It's NOT waterproof, so I always put the phone in a sandwich bag prior to putting it in the spibelt.
OP, when my wife was pregnant, I used an iPhone strap that I got from best buy and it was fine. I used it for every run for like 2 months. It wasn't awful. It was the dead of summer, though, so I was sweating like a damn whore in church. I wrapped the phone in syran wrap just to be safe.
I think you out to just get a small running pack. I used one for years when I ran to work. I carried clothes and everything, but you could just get a small camelback and that way you'd have your phone, keys, wallet, etc...
Honestly, a running pack was less annoying than an arm strap, but that is just MHO.
There's threads on the backpack topic if you care. I think Nathan has a few good hydration packs that make good backpacks when you remove the bladder.
Did it show that I was sweating that much?

OMG the guy asked for suggestions not a sermon on why not to wear an iphone....that said check out the Arm Pocket...it has served me quite well.
and i run with my iphone because i get tired of listening to the same songs over and over...it would be nice if they could come out with something like the shuffle that i could use slacker on.
After having my first episode of atrial fibrillation, my wife insisted I carry my phone. Although I thought it quite unnessary, I relented and use the small pouch that came with a hydration belt I used for trail races. It is pretty non conspicous, especially when I wear my shirt out. Can also carry some extra cash and ID if ever the need arises.

That spibelt actually looks pretty good.
Is it bad that I want to buy one now?
Yurbuds makes an armband that fits an iPhone perfectly and you even get a personalized safety id tag. Their earphones are also supposed to let in ambient noise so you can hear your surroundings. I bought a pair at the Portland marathon expo and I really like them.

I saw Ryan Bak at the expo (I learned that he works for Yurbuds) and I thought that was pretty cool. I thought he was pretty entertaining in the Five Thousand Meters movie.
I don't know how big an Iphone is, but would it be possible to,um, carry it your hand?
