Bottom line Farah has eschewed the junk miles and is now running roughly the same moderate volume Rupp ran for his PBs last season. It would be a pity if Farah, trying to do more, ended up broken like Ritz.
Advantage is Farah's spot is secure. Moreover, many of the best Kenyan and Ethiopians will not be allowed to run worlds or Olympics. In competing for selection, others will be closer to overtrained, some will end up hurt.
Something to be said for leaving some stones unturned in that scenario.
