My first marathon, NYC Marathon, is coming up in 3 weeks and I was supposed to do my longest run, 22 miles, yesterday. Well, I had to stop at 20.25 mark.
So far I have done 4 X 20 milers but never longer. I was dissapointed yesterday that I was not able push it harder to finish my run (did not realize how important it was) and I am affraid that mentally it is going to effect me on Nov 7th (hitting the wall).
Should I try do another long run tomorrow or Wednesday (with a or 2 days rest) before start tapering? or should I try to do it on Sunday, 2 weeks prior to race but with better rest?
Any comments or feedback would be great.
