hey everybody, i am an ex cross country and track runner who now sadly smokes cigarettes. i have been smoking for about 5 months, and i am planning to quit very soon. i want to get back into running really bad. in high school i ran 15:52 for 5k and 9:47 for 2 miles. do any of you think i will be able to overcome the smoking and get back into good running form? how long before i can break 17 again, and possibly 16?? i am hoping to get back to this but i dont know if i can after smoking for that long. any response is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
