In Case You're Wondering What Happened to the Homepage...

One thing I noticed is there isn't a "Home" link in the header of the forums to return to the homepage.

If you click on the LetsRun logo in the upper left you return back to our homepage.

I thought it was cool. Just my 2 cents.

Very difficult to read forums with such small landscape to work with. Way too busy. Looks more like a billboard with real news hidden. Sorry, not a fan of this in the least.

Do you ever see some commercials so often that you begin to hate the advertiser and vow NOT to purchase what they're selling? That is happening right not with me for Puma. This is not helping their cause.

There is WAY too much going on framing the text. Ads shouldn't take up THREE sides of the page-- 2 at the most, and even then, not as big as they currently are. Why so big?

The ad itself looks pretty slick, it's jut taking up way too much space. Thank-you, though, for consulting with your readership and asking for feedback.

LetsRun is a dinosaur, and times like these only remind us of it. Use the present ad takeover as some experience in learning to get the web site into some new technology, an updated framework and modern sales programs. With the amount of daily visitors you have you could be making real bank (and therefore helping ensure the site will stick around longer). Oh, and get a logo professionally designed for christ's sakes.

I second this. And thanks for asking our opinions.

I like the way that the site looks now. I think it looks way more organized than the "bomb just exploded...here's track news" chaotic organization that the home page and the site in general has been in the past. I think once the Puma representation goes away, I'd still like to see the actual framework being utilized stay.

Disagree strongly about the logo. At this point it is recognizable and associated with site. A new logo may look nicer but would lack the cache.

Your readers will want the relationship between Puma and LR to be symbiotic, not parasitic. A quick visual estimate suggests that one quarter of the front page is now taken up with genuine content, and three quarters with advertising. That doesn't work for me. I'll be more likely to lean toward Puma if I learn about stuff they're doing to help the sport than if my computer screen starts to look like a map of the expanding Age of Empire.

Forums need some tweaking, but overall it is cool.

This is ok for a while. I agree that you need a new design and really need a new logo. And the logo does not have to have running legs - just cool-looking letters instead of ancient ones.

Hate it. Advertising should not overshadow the actual site. How am I suppossed to read the message board at work now when it's obvious I'm browsing a non-work related site?
