does anyone know the best ever average finish in one year for the 5 midwest teams at nationals? i assume its never been 3rd place (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th). could this years group of 5 average, say, 6th? too high? too low? too valu?

-Not only did washu take 3rd out of nowhere, but they return their whole top 6! Shouldn't surprise anyone next year.
-Whitewater and Augie also return some depth and should be solid.
-NCC and Platteville return great top 3s. NCC is the kind of program that always reloads, and if Platteville can find 2 more guys they will be very dangerous as well.
I think things could change a lot with the course... heard it's classic cross country - rolling hills and also that it's rained a lot lately in Cleveland. The Winneconne Golf Course is about as flat as you can get and Saturday was just about as perfect weather as you're going to get. Conditions will be different on the 21st...
