I like Teg but he didn't look that great at Worlds. The race played perfectly to his strengths and he couldn't cpaitalize. I think he will be lucky to match his 13:04 in Brussels. The next few years he will challnge that mark but he just doesn't seem to have it this year and lets face it, Ritz had the race of his life. Teg needs to be in the shape of his life, have everything work out to plan and not be distracted by Ritz's recent accomplishment. It will definitely fuel him in the future but the fact that it happened so unexpectedly and all of a sudden might have knocked the wind out of Teg a little bit. And as for Solinsky he is not in the same league as these guys a 13 10 would be great for him though and it seems doable.
Teg looked great in the prelim...probably left too much there. He ran 13:07 earlier this summer, so I don't see why he couldn't make a stab at sub-13. He's looked better than last year.
Solinsky is in the same league as these guys. 13:12 2 years ago. Up until yesterday he had a better PR than Mr. Ritz. But let's ignore all that and hop on the bandwagon! Ritz is king again after years of being written off!
It's good to see that the huge "break BK's 5K record" hurdle wasn't done by Lagat (1259) or Teg (1304) or Webb (1311) or Solinsky (1312) or Rupp (1318 indoors), the guys who always pop up in such discussions. Ritz of the 13:16 PR and the lack of speed and the can't hack it on the track did it. Should motivate these jokers
