Don't try the 904. I thought it might be ok since it is lightweight too, but the forefoot posting sucks for me.
Hopefully some NB rep will see this and respond.
Well, I like the 904. I wish they would have given it a little more durability (be prepared to chuck 'em after 350 miles), but I think it is all-around a good shoe. It doesn't have all of the wacky gimmicks that NB's new shoes do (I recently switched from the 760 series because they were getting too beefy and too "weird"--the 769 added a gel pad on the heel, for example). The 904 does, however, have dual-density foam, so it's more like a lightweight version of the 769 than a new version of the 826. I actually didn't like the 826 because it was too squishy. It feels good at first, but it wears off quickly and feels like the shoe is unstable. The tongue was also way too thin--the laces gave me lace bite!
p.s. if a new balance rep ever reads this, can those wacky undulating laces. They put too much pressure on the tops of the feet, and even with them, I have to double-knot my shoes anyways.
