Just saw a news clip comparing the danger of cheerleading to football and hockey. Since 1982, cheerleading has accounted for over half of female head injuries. If they want to be considered a sport maybe its time to have regulations such as helmuts.

What's a "helmut".
Is that some kind of dog?
big german guys strapped to their bodies might make doing those flips a lot harder.
He's pretty big to strap to a girl. Why him?
Depends, is Helmut lighter than Hans?
You can strap this Helmut to me anytime.

Yes, tight, young American cheerleaders should be forced to wear me.
Sincerely,
Helmut Kohl
In my experience, cheerleaders should wear pearl necklaces, not helmets.

Who said anything about helmets? This discussion is about helmuts.
Is the OP talking about clothing from the Helmut Lang line? I think that stuff might be a little too high-fashion and might not move well enough for cheerleaders.
In the most recent incident, it would not have mattered WHOM was on the girl's head, given that it was a kick to the chest that did her in.
Perhaps cheerleaders should wear Roberta Flack jackets?
Oh c'mon now, you know this thread has taken a turn for the worse when we start debating function vs fashion when it comes to cheerleader attire...

Before I go any further, let me just say, you brought it up by using all-caps:
Why "WHOM?" I thought the who/whom rule was real easy-- if you can plug in "him," use "whom," but if you can plug in "he," use "who."
Here, you can't say "HIM was on the girl's head."
You could say "HE was on the girl's head." Therefore, you should have used "who." Am I missing something?
Sorry for lapsing into grammar, but I feel like we may have exhausted all the helmut jokes anyway.
Lets think outside the "box" people.
It'd be a shame for cheerleaders to be seen in dingy old ones, so I guess they must be encouraged to polish the Helmuts regularly.
Or was that a typo? Maybe you meant to ask if they should be forced to wear mullets?
How would they wear this helmut?
They should be forced to wear on of those German helmuts from WW2 with the spike on top!
