Haha - I love it. Midwest goes 1-2. 5 of top 10. Another regional team championship.
Maybe they should've moved the race to the streets since the course was a little damp. Haha

5 bucks says they can't break the new record..or even the old one.
Not so sure why you'd say that, since the guy who owns the record just got beat by 19 seconds...buuuut...OK, I guess.
I bet you a billion Schrute Bucks that it doesn't matter. Course Records coma and go, even great ones. Nobody else will ever been the 2007 Footlocker National Champion.
You're on! 5 bucks says they could - and in a race that mattered!
that was the fastest anyone has ran in i don't know how many years because i dont feel like checking but there's a footlocker champ every year. everyone can run 19flat and there would still be a winner. woopdeedoo!
lets just wait til track rolls around shall we since i make myself look like a crybaby for cali and your midwest got lucky. settle this in a few months, shall we.
Hey yeah, let's settle this after we midwesterners go through some ridiculously hard weather conditions for a few months while the Cali boys train in May-like temps everyday.
It's all about places man. Times don't WIN races...even IN California...
Cali is and always will be better in every event.
Two words
Ryan Hall, Meb, Kastor, Mike Granville, LB Poly, Girls HS National 1600m and 3200m record, LB Poly, Marc Davis.
Ok that was a few more than two words.
Oh WAIT Allyson Flix, LB Wilson, USC's receiving core (aka the former LB Poly track team). Stember, Bolota, That girl who is running for Oregon and ran a 4:38 mile in HS, Julia Stamps.....
And two wrap it up last time I check the only distance runners to receive a medal last Olympics were from Cali.
Last I checked Meb was from africa
Meb started running in middle school in San Diego at age 12.

Congrats!
Cali also wins the douchebag contest.
Not the 5000 meters, Bob Kennedy is from Ohio. You California people are insane, you pull up this random shit like this the day that your boy got his ass handed to him by kids from Illinois and Indiana. I think everyone in the midwest is sick of the insane amount of hype Fernandez got on here, it was deserved but most of you acted like the race didn't even need to be run, saying he would win by 40 seconds or something crazy like that.
Ummm? Smaller than the "Midwest" ??

oook mr. weather man. you're right the weather is the same everywhere in california.
You do realize it gets to be 110+ degrees in Riverbank in the summer. Why don't you come out here and try to handle it you piece of shit. Just cuz So-Cal is filled with a bunch of f****** doesn't mean you got to hate on the Central Vally you bitch ass. you gotta be hard to live out here.
ha, you gotta be hard to live in california. That's a new one.
freeze, Midwest, FREEZE!

I think it just goes to show how much unpredictable HS running can be: when kids are light on background, consistency is rare.
That being said:
1) You would expect the best athletes to consistently come out of California given the population
2) California has a wide range of climate zones, if you didn't know. Marc Davis' HS experience is San Diego will be very different than Ryan Hall's in Big Bear
3) Might be worth noting that our last two marathon medalists are CA HS graduates and live and train in (you guessed it): California.
