Right now I'm just testing the waters since I have a couple of months until track. My workouts are basically by myself and extremely unstructured. I'm actually trying to have some fun. So here's the thing, today I was going to do a 2 mile warm up at around 8 minutes per mile, do 4 x 400 meters in about 70 with a minutes rest, then rest about 5 minutes and do a hard 400 in like 63ish. Well I ended up doing my 2 mile warmup in like 12 minutes with the last half mile in like 2:45. I ran my first 400 in like 68. rested like a minute then a 65, rested like 3 minutes then a 66, rested like 5 minutes then another 66, rested like 6 or 7 minutes and I wrapped up with a 59. Although I took too many eons of rest to get much benefit for miling, I think this workout could still help my 800m time which is my focus anyways. It looks like my footspeed is pretty good for so early in the off season. I think I just need to work on my stamina. It's weird tho, because since XC just ended you would think that my stamina would be good and my speed bad. Anyways, any input?
