I got a huge base with longer intervals throughout the summer and fall. Then sporadically my coach began to throw in some speed endurance stuff like 4 sets of 4 200’s at goal 8 pace. It was weird and unconventional but I went along with it because I’m 2 years out of college and since the club's program seemed relatively easy, I figured that running faster than 4:11 for the mile was out of the question. I ran a 4:10 FAT last night. How does that happen? I looked at my journal; there were no mile specific workouts. I think I only did one 400 and that was during a workout that went 16, 16, 12, 8, 8, 4. Make sense to anyone? I hope this means that I can go faster. I gotta go eat a pizza.
