I got mine chipped off with surgery after many injections and cremes did nothing to the bursa sack protecting it. I was out for a month or two but now im back to normal.
im moderately sure i have this(a large bony bump on the back of the heel right) but i never go to the doctor so im not positive. What i have done is alter my shoes significantly which helps a whole lot. Cut the back and get the hard plastic out of the back- if you do it right you can fold the cloth/outer part back down and it doesnt even look that bad- although obv i dont care how the shoes look. Also i use heel lifts to take off a little bit of the stretching of the tendons etc due to the enlarged bone- ie try to change the angle. Anyway this has worked for me pretty well im as healthy as i ve been in years. Also soak in ice water/whirlpool obv helps.
How exactly did you cut the back plastic piece out...did you use scissors, exacto knife...??? I tried to do that with an old pair of asics, but the plastic piece seems to be stuck in there pretty tightly....Also, do you cut the entire plastic piece out or just part of it???? Thanks!!
Use a razor knife- it's a tough bugger! and remove the entire heel counter.
Yeah an exacto knife. I make two vertical cuts about 3-4 inches up from the back on each side. Then a long horizontal cut along the bottom that obv connects them. Then you can work the outer layer off of the plastic and do the same for the plastic from the inner layer of padding/cloth. Like youre basically turning that part of the shoe inside out to get the plastic out- then once its out flip it back and it looks and holds the same as if it wasnt in at all.
