Seriously, has ANYONE ever finished with such perfect form? As much as the commentators usually fawn and drool all over the top performances, I think it might actually have been warranted in this case. HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE HE WAS TRYING THAT HARD! Kind of ridiculous, especially when they kept panning back to Brian Sell, who looked like he had a giant wedgie. (Obviously, that didn't keep him from an amazing final push.)
I'm just stunned at how effortless Hall was throughout the entire race. He seriously could have broken 2:08, if he'd wanted. For the geezers who've been around a while, then: are there *any* other American performances from back in the day that would even come close to this? I don't want to be historically ignorant or disrespectful, but I'll go out on a limb and say that this was maybe the most dominating marathon performance (by both quantitative and qualitative measures) by an American on American soil EVER.
