I have been having medial shin pain for a few weeks but recently found that using a foam roller fixed the problem. The pain is relieved enough that I can run entirely pain free but sometimes after my run my tibia is sore. When I use the foam roller all of my symptoms are relieved including the pain along my bone. Can anyone explain to me what structure in my leg is most likely involved - posterior tibialis? soleus?? And what would be wrong with that muscle if the foam roller is able to fix the problem? Finally, why would my tibia keep becoming sore even after it seems the foam roller has helped rid me of the pain?
Thanks for any insights on this.
