You definitely nailed it with a few of these.
PG is one of the best stocks to own over a long period of time. It is almost unflappable. With the weak dollar PG is actually doing well because of the international business they do. They pay very large dividends and have been on a tear ever since the market has been scared straight.
PG is almost at 72 after many many splits. That is one stock I have owned since the 70's.

I actually have money saved up to invest, and have been looking to do so in the market.
Anyone know any good sites or any stocks that would be good to hold onto looking at the long term? I'd probably be looking to buy them and forget about them if possible. I don't care if it goes down a few points here and there, but most likely would be looking for something thats going to rise in several years, but obviously rise at greater % than the current inflation.

If you go with a mix of these 5 funds you will do well for the long term. The only thing you will need to do is to rebalance the portfolio to get the asset allocation to the one you determined to fit your risk tolerance level.
You will be better a lot better off with your risk adjusted returns by buying these two funds (they also can be bought with ETFs by you will have to pay a commision) than trying to pick individual stocks.
The keys to good investing - diversification to reduce risk and low turnover to reduce commision and tax consequences. People who buy and share stocks make pay a lot in taxes and commisions that they wouldn't if they went long term view.
You look at the returns of the S&P500 index and compare it to managed mutual funds and the index will beat 80% of the managed funds and the ones it doesn't beat it will beat in the long term. And you look at Buffett success. His success rests with holding a company for the long term to reduce transaction costs and commisions.
