The local high school track, when open, encourages "joggers" to use the outside lanes to preserve the inside lanes for high school tracksters. On a standard 400-meter track, how much extra am I running per lane as I move to the outside? i.e., 4 laps in lane 4 would be a mile plus how much? Is there a per-lane formula? Thanks in advance.
