Fresh corn, right off the stalk and immediately cooked is the best corn I've ever tasted.

Fresh anything is usually better.
I've heard this about corn, but never tried it myself.
Even more elusive is are pre-bagged cheetos, chips, pretzels, etc. To taste a fresh cheeto is to truly taste a cheeto, so I hear. (I hate cheetos, but would like to try a dorito or something)
how do you know if corn in a husk is ripe/fresh?
I think frozen corn is more tasty.
As soon as corn is picked the enzymes in the corn start to convert the sugar to starch. In other words, the longer you wait to eat it the less sweet it becomes. Newer types of corn (so called Super Sweet) have higher sugar content so they last longer. Still corn should only be eaten in season and from a local farm.
Frozen corn is garbage. Anyone who thinks it is good hasn't tried corn.

you are all correct. fresh corn on the cob with butter all over it and pepper/salt is unbeatable. however, my grandmother used to cut fresh corn off of the cob and make a creamed corn dish with cheese and jalapeno peppers in it. now that might even take the win!
ya know, i actually had that while i was down here, and youre right, it is amazing. but ill still take the corn on the cob, no butter or salt. now thats good stuff.
I like corn holing
