I am just coming off base (training for the 5000m), and I want to start some speed. I have about 6 weeks before entering my long interval phase (800s-1mile reps @3k-5k pace) , but being a Daniels follower I usually start with some short speed workouts for a few weeks. This year I was thinking about changing things up a bit. In the past, I've always done 200's weekly to get the legs moving, but this year I might want to to try those 60m all out sprints (Ethiopian style; track, spikes, etc.).. So, should I.... stick with the weekly 200m session (10-16 x 200m with 200m recovery jog) or try 8-10 60m sprint with full recovery 2 or 3 times a week ???
