I've seen a lot of cocky (confident) comments coming from Abdi about the upcoming half marathon. What happened to talking with your feet?

He's not being cocky. He is fit and ready to compete against some of the world's best. To succeed at that level you need to have self-confidence.
He was asked to say something so he said something. Don't make too much of it. Obviously he wants to run well.
If Haile G and all them let some f-ed up heel striker beat them it will be quite a disgrace.
yeah, let's make sure the athletes in our sport are boring and give great quotes like "i will let my feet do the talking. that is all." real easy to build stories around gems like that. i bet you're one of the people who whines about our sport not getting any coverage and no one caring about it.
I did not see Abdi say anything (although I could have missed it). He did speak with his feet though, so if he did say something, he certainly backed it up. Finishing second in that field with that kind of time is impressive.
Self cofidence and belief are vital to elite class runners. Its art of their training/conditioning the mental/psycho stuff that every good coach installs in his charges.

Abdi is looking like he can give Hall a good run for it in NY this fall.

Perhaps to elite class runners, but not to forum posters.
I don't complain about the sport not getting the coverage it deserves. I'm very into it, and that is enough for me.
Abdi is talking a lot of shit from what I have seen. Talking about how he is going to beat Haile G. You don't need to go out telling every Tom, Dick, and Harry your going to beat Haile G. to believe in yourself. You just have to be confident in your training.
Also, he took 2nd, but was over a minute off of Haile G. Now, in my opinion, his checking account is way overdrawn.
he got asked a question and he answered it. what's wrong with that? and he never said anything about how he was going to beat geb. he said: "If I knew Haile was going to beat me in the race, if I knew Haile was going to win (and I had no chance) I wouldn't have come... I'm not running for second place. I'm running to win." explain to me what is wrong with this attitude.
