Lamai Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand. Had some nighttime naked fun with a Japanese tourist there at 1:00am one night.

You've never been to the NC outer banks....
If i remember correctly travel channel just voted the Outer banks the number 2 beach in the world. One of the categories was isolation.
My personal favorite is Bear Island in NC. You have to take a ferry out there. You camp right on the dunes and wake up to the sun rising.... absolutely amazing.... there are only 12 campsites on the island and they are about 100 yards apart. Most of the year no one is out there so it is like having your own island paradise to yourself for 15 bucks a night with showers and a bathroom.

One in the Caribbean on an island you have never heard of and--guess what?--it is staying that way. But, to be fair, the beer costs less than $1.00; the local women are generally 8 to 9's; the water is clear blue rolling onto pure white sand and the running is superb.
I call bullshit! Anyone who's been to the Caribbean knows the water is not "clear blue." Good try, troll.

You are correct. Very strict building restrictions on The Outer Banks, and because the strip of land is only so wide, only so many people can be there. It is NEVER crowded, even during peak season. You find a spot on the beach, and you can be so far away from anyone else it's almost like you're there alone. You'll never see a picture of people shoulder to shoulder laying on the sand on their towels there. It's terrific. I think I just talked myself into going there again next summer.
For starters, try this:

Personally, haiving grown up in RI, I am still partial to the South County beaches.
Secondly, I recommend most Hawaii beaches but there are cetain ones that top the others, such as the black sand beaches.
Just came back from 9 days at Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo beaches. What a different feel there!
Lastly, you haven't been to a real beach until you go to the Rivera. For those who have been, you know what I'm talking about...
Ops, sorry for the typos!
Wasaga Beach
I used to do alot of surfing (at beaches like Cocoa and New Smyrna in Florida). But my favorite beaches are the ones that I didn't (or can't) surf.
#1 Favorite - Bahia Honda State Park, Keys
Close Runner Up - Neskowin Beach, Oregon
What's wrong with Myrtle?
It's loaded with things for kids to do and the golfing is unbeatable.

Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula...
I was just there, quick dip on the way back from Windsor last Sunday, sand dunes east of St Ignace on Hwy 2., warm water, onshore breeze. Very nice indeed.
I'd have to say south of Tulum (Caribbean coast between Playa del Carmen and Belize) would be my favorite. A palapa and a hammock, beer and seafood, young Eurpoean backpackers, very laid back, white sand and oh so blue water.
I second. Riviera Maya from my limited experience.
Nothing wrong with Myrtle I go there at least once a year...
But it shouldn't be one of your favorite beaches unless you like people standing on top of you at the beach.
The traffic is horrible.
Every restaurant there is a buffet bar (joking only a little).
I do like the golf there. I played Eagles Nest earlier this summer not bad for a tourist golf course.
12 mile Beach on Lake Superior in the Central UP
Indiana Beach
I've been to Myrtle quite a bit and I've never been on a crowded section of the beach. Only a fool stays in that part.
We stay where there are rows of houses on either side of the small hotel and it's like a private beach.
So, I'll say it again. Myrtle is a great beach for kids and golfing.
Then your not staying in Myrtle...
Your probably staying in North Myrtle which is a lovely beach that is not very crowded at all.
However, still not one of the best.
Don't get me wrong, like i said before i like it enough that me and the miss' go down there once or twice a year.
I'm thinking of going there for New Years and playing golf for a week on the differant courses.
There are just much better beaches out there. I'd say Wilmington an hour down the road is better. The Outer Banks are way better.
