Im am not quite aware if this has been attempted by him or not, but after that awesome 3k he flew in Britain, I could not help but think that this would not only be logical, but a huge addition to American running. It seems that as many letsrun posters have said, that Mr. Solinskys talent is somewhere between that 1500, and the 5000. In the steeple, Hewould get a legit shot to race at a true international event at a distance that is better suited to him, and maybe do very well. Obviously it takes usually a great amouunt of toughness, which he is well endowed with, and height also helps, which he seems to have covered as well. Going off of what others say, usually runners that are good at cross country also excel in the steeple, in this case it makes Chris and the steeple a perfect match, since he was the third place finisher at nationals two years back, and I think that by this point we know that his performance this year was just a very bad day. His third place finish was higher then Mcadams, Aguayo, and Lincoln ever ran in cross at nationals, so at this point, I would think that it would be very smart for Chris to take a shot at this distance. Like I said, I dont know if he has already tried it, but would like to know what the running community thinks?
