I am during the base phase like everyone else and I am wondering if on days where I have to run ten miles if it is better to run it all at once or run 7 in the morning and 3 at night would I be limiting my aerobic fitness ?

10 mile at once,unless you do a workout w/recovery runs (3 miles).
the first letsrun response will usually be to do all of your runs in singles but it really depends if you are transitioning to higher mileage. it is definitely more beneficial to your aerobic fitness to run 10 miles rather than split it up but if you're not yet ready to handle it then split it up now and run it in singles when you are stronger. at least thats what i am doing.
10 miles is kinda too short a distance, what I really wanted to ask was if two a days are recommended and if running 6 miles in the evening after running 11 miles in the morning would be more stupid or smart for your body, I guess it just depends on how your body reacts to that kinda workout plan
You can almost certainly manage more miles with doubles. Your running will most likely benefit from more miles.
Yeah, try not to put too much pressure on yourself to hit certain mileage goals. Run twice a day most days. Run about 3-5 in the morning and more than that in the afternoon. Run by feel.
I made all my best improvements when I finally let myself relax and not care about how many miles I was running or how fast I was running them.
After I realized that it wasn't a crime if I ran slowly when I was tired, it seemed I had less bad days even though I was running a lot more miles. Miracle or miracles, at the end of a few months, I was running most of my runs faster than before anyway even though they didn't feel strained.

Are the 10 mile days a long day or a recovery run? If they are a recovery run split it up into 4/6. If it is a conditioning run then do it in one run, providing you can handle it.
10 in the morning, 3 in the evening ;)
You will always benefit more from a single longer run than from a pair of shorter runs. This assumes, of course, that you have safely progressed to the point where the distance of your longer run is reasonable for you.
I always run the 10 miles at one time, just b/c its's a recovery day for me....10 miles is the shortest distance I usually run...also, I think it's more time-efficient that way, so my whole day isn't taken up with running...
I would just go on feel, if you're feeling tired break it up. If you're feeling good don't.
The most important thing is that you listen to your body.
In other words, if you can do 10 miles in a single run, you can probably do say 8 + 4.
