What is going on with this position; heard it was supposed to be set by Nationals? I am sure they had tons of applicants!

I think Scott Simmons is interviewing. Hunt from UVA is frontrunner.
hunt interviewed like 3 weeks ago and turned it down from what i heard.
why did he turn it down? Too little money?
No way would Simmond work under Warner. Look for a non-distance hire and Warner will continue to coach most everything.

I did apply for it four years ago. No one call me for an interview.
Oh well may be this year.
henry
I doubt Brad was offered.
Why on earth would he decline that opporunity (I believe he is from the area as well!)
Is there a chance Spivey would return to Purdue to coach?
Maybe an Ohio high school coach that Jack may have gotten to know while at OSU?
What about Chapman?
Knows the conference and only an hour from home.
Which assistant left? Wilcoxson or Phillips?

Wilcoxson was canned
Wilcoxson left because he couldn't take Jack and Kelly ganging up on him. Thr gy gets no scholarship $ and then is blamed that they can't score a ton of distance points in one of the toughest distance conferences. Have fun with that job whomever accepts.
Warner is an ass.
Do you think Warner will end up hiring another woman for the job? He's running out of men & it seems like a woman would be the only one that could put up with him.
Hiring a women is a lot tougher than people think. There just aren't many female distance coaches.
There are more aspiring female distance coaches that one would think. Even though everyone says it is easier right now to get hired if you are a woman because of Title IX, women are still incredibly under-represented. I am sure Warner had many women apply - wonder if he's interviewed any of them?
Name 5 female distance coaches who would seriously consider leaving their current situation? I would challenge you to come up with 3?
Warner is a miserable jerk. Treats people horribly- . Who in the hell would want that job under his headache-face.
You are 100% correct about the small number of women who would be willing to leave their current situation. I should have emphasized the word aspiring. I meant that there are many women who are either volunteer coaches now or want to break onto the college coaching scene.
Do you think Warner's going to have to hire someone with little/no experience?
This is a serious question (which may be a mistake on this message board) but could you name some of the young female distance coaches out there, or ones that seem to be doing a good job. We just might not have heard of them and I would like to follow how they do.
thanks.
