and according to the facebook "i hate injuries" group...laslett is also injured
...yes i stalk athletes
....no i dont wear trousers
Ed Jackson has quit. Last spotted haveing several beers in a pub in Bedford a few weeks back.
Rumours were rife around the turn of the year that Jackson had lot interest in the sport. Its a shame as he was a 3.41 1500m runner and had time on his side.
they are all having root canal work - its a long job
Typical story- young athletes cant keep up the hard work and dedication needed to stay on top in this demanding sport- no guts or staying power plus outside distractions draw them away. Coaches have a hard job keeping them keen and competitive for the years they are at their peak. Common problem with many athletics clubs nowadays afraid.
Jackson - Quit, last seen necking around 15 pints at the Leeds relays afterparty in December
Miles - Injured most of winter with bad achilles although i hear hes on the mend now
Mo - Crammy said the other day he had a calf prob and had just done his first track sesh the other week.
Ellis - Injured, overheard him saying hes not run in months while at physio.
Bowden - Heard a rumour he was injured but dont have any proof of this.
Is it the same with Lizzy Hall as well?
Lizzy is fit, but possibly not fit to run.
Miles has an achilies injury, has been out for a long time now, back running but nothing intense. Probably wont race this season but will be ripping it up next year!

it's common in all sports in all countries.
Can someone get me in touch with Ed Jackson please. he clearly needs some help - either with running or with the beer. The former preferably, far too much talent to lose. Glen
I'm sure Ed would run if he wanted to. I'm not going to put people in touch with him just so he can hear what a waste of talent he is.
I can ask him if he wants to be put in touch with you though if you would like?
Where also is Chris Davies? Anyone know?
Chris Davies ran for Telford at the midland mens league in Worcster a few weeks back. Ran the 3k and set off in a typical Chris Davies way (62's). He won in about 8.24 but his last laps would not have been much faster than 72's as his calfs cramped up.
Spoke to him after he has been training albeit not at the volume he would like due to injuries and said he would be doing the aaa's 5k champs at horwich but didnt do it by the looks of things for whatever reason. He said hes not racing track seriously because it flares up his injurys but is a good clubman so turns out for Telford on the track.
Very nice guy so hope to see him flying on the roads again sometime soon!
They are pursuing Islamic physicians all over the UK to determine if any of them want to barbecue themselves like the twits in Glasgow last weekend.
have to agree on this one, if someone who's a full grown adult decides they don't want to do something that takes a lot of time, effort & pain for generally little reward that's up to them. Last thing they need is people telling them what to do. Believe it or not there are a lot more non-runners than runners in the UK - some of them probably have great ability but have never done the sport, or didnt want to. Should they all be harrangued into running?
I was pretty good at swimming as a kid but didnt like the sport - I'd be peeded off if someone kept on at me to do it.
What about Chris Thompson?
ran 13.33 for 5000m the other week but didnt run Euro Cup - not sure why, maybe injured again? Anyone know?
I am still trying to figure out where the next Cram and Coe are.
Lizzy just got added to Euro U23 team so clearly must be close to racing shape, but needs to prove fitness first.
