Yeah, right. It takes talent. Mottram ran 3:42 at like 18 years old, basically a 4 minute high school miler. It's easy to say it's about belief when it comes easily to you. How many on this board reading that quote could actually run sub 13 minutes if they just believed? Hell, even sub 14.
He was also doing training rides on his road bike before school, swimming during lunch than running when he got home since he was in middle school/early high school. Also he ran 3:49 not 3:42 and had already had huge Triathlon training/competitions under his belt prior to that. If talent is hard work then yes you're right, it does take hard work.
