My brother lives in a relatively new house (1970s era) with his two sons and wife in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
The former occupant was an alcoholic the neighbors say and she fell down the stairs, hit her head, and died. The hubby sold soon afterward to my brother.
Well, the lady shows up frequently. Here are a few incidents:
* Sister-in-law tapped on the shoulder while cooking dinner. No one there.
* Boys were infants and my brother walks down to the kitchen one morning and a loaf of bread that had been on top of the refrigerator is across the room on the floor. Two cereal boxes are on the counter, instead of atop the fridge. His wife says she didn't do it.
* Loaf of bread does the same thing the next night. Now they don't keep anything on top of the fridge and all is well.
* Dog will be sleeping then all of a sudden run to the corner of the kitchen and bark wildly, or yelp for no reason, or be eating and then sprint from the room.
* Kids, now older, have asked mom why she comes into their room at night and just stands there. Mom says she's never done that.
* When they remodeled a bathroom, tools kept disappearing, not just moved, or misplaced, but gone. Apparently ghost didn't want things disturbed? Brother says he's sure the kids aren't doing it.
* Liquor bottles lined up along the top shelf of downstairs bar are frequently rearranged. Nothing missing from them, but just placed in a different order.
It's never anything violent, the ghost apparently just wants things the way she had it and maybe wants something, maybe help? The incidents have diminished in frequency as the years have gone by, and oh yeah, they didn't know anything of the house's history until several years after they lived there and started asking questions of the neighbors.
