Sure after we win the PA
Sure after we win the PA
The word on the street is that Fleet Feet is bringing in some local college coaches to create a super team with the help of some chips.
Tonight is the night.
The beginning of an empire.
NO
Not theirs!
Not going to be.
That's a negative.
The Orange wave is gone.
All Sacramento's faster runners must compete for one club and one club only in the PA.
That is the way it will be.
Hey Pat!
Up yours!!
Your team of walking billboards has faded.
The FOO has fallen.
I guess we will find out on Saturday.
What happens on Saturday? And who are these "local college coaches" who are worth a hoot? I'm sorry but I can't think of any.
That's what I'm talking about. What the Sac State coach?? Their crew is great at taking decent high school runners (4:15 or so milers) and helping them to never PR again. I seen tons of those guys show up and leave after 4 years with a blazing 3:58 1500m. So what coaches are you talkiing about? And who's going to be on this team?? Most the guys on the local team have jobs and do what they can on the weekends. Where are these herds of elite runners hanging out at in Sacto?? What is the team going to convince runners from other areas to show up??
Shriners 8K ever heard of it?

Maybe the guy from ARC.
And what's going to happen there???
Is some elite team going to drop man times or what??

Looks like the only thing they're going to drop is their drawers.
The FF people are seriously in some sort of fantasy land. They have this high level of self importance that they don't even realize makes them look like complete idiots. If only they realized that what they are is walking billboards for the FF store and that's it.
Our teams from the bay area will come up to Shriners on Saturday and take the top 3 open mens spots. You can bet on that.
The Reebels got lucky at Marin and the Mile.
But Saturday will be a different story.
Dude,
First of all we had a master runner beat your third best open man. Second, I agree about the FF tam, lame! I mean really, its not that big of a deal. Walking around in all the gear and matching tops, etc...
It's about training, kicking with people that like to run, running races and trying to accomplish whatever goal you have set and having a few brews afterwards.
The FF crowd act like they might accidently drop a trails qualifying time or something.
The Rebels are cool. They have members who like to train and race hard, but they don't take themselves too seriously and are a friendly bunch overall. The reason people even bother giving the FF team any attention is because of the attitude. Maybe if they acted like normal people they wouldn't get so much flack. Again, it's the self importance thing that really gets people.
I totally agree.
I train with the Rebels and it is exactly like you say. Plus we haven't sold out. Most of us have sold out in our business lives, we sure don't want to sell out in our running lives.

I've met some Fleet feet people at races and they seemed freindly enough. Who has the attitude? Names?
It is probably a few bad seeds who are making the masses look bad. I agree that many of the FF people I've met and seen at races are nice. I'm referring to the ones who constantly post on this board and boast about how their team is taking over the universe, yada yada yada. I have heard that Dusty and Pat of FF have very clear agendas to use the team for their store's gain, nothing more.
