I'm in the last week before a 10K race I've been training for. For the last couple of months I've been running 50-60 miles a week comprising two track sessions, a long run of 10-15 miles and lots of easy running. So far this week I've done:
MON - 10 miles EZ (6:45 pace)
TUE - 4 x 1200m @ 5K (2 min rec) + 2 miles EZ
WED - 7 miles EZ (6:30 pace)
I'm planning to take Friday off and do 3-4 EZ miles on Saturday before the race on Sunday. The question is what should I run today? I'd normally do a long run of about 13 miles slightly faster than EZ pace but am worried I'll tire myself out for Sunday. Alternatively I was thinking of doing an abbreviated track session at race pace (eg, 3 x 1 mile @ 10K pace + 2 miles EZ). Thoughts?
