You do realize that there is about 10 seconds difference between 5 miles and 8k right? You wonder why that 5th mile split is always so fast!
Marathon:
2:48:56 2000 Cincinnati Flying Pig: my very first one, it hurt the last 10k in 50 minutes
2:38:07 2002 Rocket City Marathon: 1:14/1:24 split
2:34:53 2005 Chicago Marathon: 1:16/1:18 split (first time I didn't totally die at the end)
2:33:58 2002 Derby Festival Marathon: 1:15/1:19 split
2:32:45 2006 Chicago Marathon: 1:15/1:17 split (first time I really felt like I raced a marathon)
My favorite distance is the 15K, but I've only been able to find 3 of those in the two years I've been running. Times (most recent to oldest):
1:00:12
1:02:00
1:05:46
Second favorite distance is the half marathon (same order as above):
1:30:58*
1:26:35
1:26:54
1:32:10
1:31:13
*Ran this one for fun with a friend at his pace, but the time still counts.
