Any opinions on the Crossfire?
They are being marked down by a lot at most dealerships, so if you are truly interested in purchasing one look around and you will find a great deal. They borrow most of their parts from the Mercedes SLK and have pretty good power and handling. I've driven an SRT-6 version at DCX's test track in Auburn Hills and I was pretty impressed. However I do think that they share a bit too much of a front end of the Chrysler Pacifica and I could find 5 or 7 more sports cars in the price range that I would rather drive. Whatever you do, don't get the automatic. Also, the front wheel drive creates some nasty torque steer if you gun it off the line.
I can't decide if american gladiators has never driven a Crossfire, is a terrible vehicle evaluator, or is a troll.
I agree. That car depreciates about 50% by the time the dealer loses sight of the tail lights.
I thought the SRT-6 was only available in an automatic?
As what was already mentioned, the Crossfire shares parts from the the older Mercedes. The car looks great, but doesn't seem worth getting over a few other cars in its price range.
I've never driven it though and only know as much as Car and Driver and Motortrend tell me. So my opinion is worth zippy.
last year, they used the sell the Crossfire at Overstock.com. I am not kidding you.
The SRT-6 is only available in auto.
No FWD crossfire has ever been produced, they're RWD.
i've never driven one...
get a 350z!
i own a 2004. i bot it on discount new. i like the looks of the car and i liked the price after discount. i was looking at the mazda rx-8 and the 350 z nissan. because the crossfires were not moving, the discount was around $10000 at the time. you see lots of 350's as they are very popular and a nice car. not many rx-8, but the rotary motor was very attractive.
the top end speed of the cross fire is comparable or better, but it doesn't have great acceleration. it is made by mercedes. low profile tires are very expensive. 18 inch fronts and 19 inch backs, so no tire rotation. very good mileage, as the car is very light. not for everyone, but good for a midlife crisis and i like the look.....
Why not get the automatic? Also, what 5 or 7 models would you pick over the Crossfire?
what are new ones going for these days?
