For anyone who cares.
I posted on here around late November with a pain in the top middle of my right foot. I asked for advice and got suggestions like stress fracture, navicular fracture, sprain, arch problems.
Anyway, got it checked out and it's a bad ligament sprain. Turns out we have some pretty fragile ligaments in there. It's good to know what it is.
Just some advice to others: Catch these problems early otherwise they can last for a long time (a couple months so far in my case). Don't worry so much about going to a doctor if the pain isn't very bad. Just take care of it.
I asked the doc what the treatment would be for all of the other things suggested to me and he says pretty much the same. Stay off it as much as possible, more arch support than usual, R.I.C.E., use crutches if it hurts more than you feel it should.
If someone had said this to me I might have gotten off the foot for a while and not spent the $150 on the doc. Instead, I "took it easy" an injured myself further.
Common sense for most but the stubborn runner.
