800 and 300H both hurt bad, so running them should seem about the same.

Yeah.
Seems pretty good for a training run on a flat track. Sounds like he's healthy again. Watch out for him outdoors!
Ricardo Chambers, FSU 44.. 400m guy, ran 1:53 last weekend in Gainesville, in first attempt at 800.
How many HS kids ran 1:56 in the 800m. I did, indoors.
Hardly thread starting material.
I remember seeing a lot of 400 hurdlers doing indoor 400s when I was grad schooling in Gainesville. Seems appropriate. Remember that the tight turns and the distance can both be foreign to the long hurdlers.
Oh, and coachkritter was usually announcing those races. Good times, though it was usually sunny and mid 70s outside. I always wondered why they even ran indoors in Florida.

But aren't you glad he started it so you could brag about your skills?

Apparently you have no idea who Bershawn Jackson is, or you might be more interested.
1:56 is no where near an equivelant performance to his best times. why nut off? He should be able to run 1:53 in practice.
I think Bershawn ran 1:54 early in indoor last year. Don't remember where.
he ran 1:57 high last year at the same meet
Sorry, I was off by a year. Bershawn ran 1:54.43 running for GW Express at the Virginia Tech Invitational January 14-15 2005.
tim hawkes, 46.XX 400 guy ran 1.50.XX last week.
Unless this was a Jeremy Wariner running an 800m thread...it is useless.

Why?
A 400IH would make for better 800 runners than an open 400m runner. BJ is #9 AT and #6 in the US AT with his 47.30, which also won him a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD MEDAL. He's a young guy and we should take note of his races.

PRACTICE........PRACTICE!.........PRACTICE!

Nobody's nutting off, and nobody's under the illusion that 1:56 is equivalent to a sub-48 400 hurdles.
The reason people are interested in the result isn't that they think he's going to be a great 800m runner. He's not. But it's interesting to see what exceptional athletes can do in other events. Have you ever read the dozens of threads wondering what Jeremy Wariner could run for 800m? Well, here's a data point: a top-notch 400m hurdler who isn't able to just cruise through a "relaxed" 52 first lap and then jog it in for a 1:46.
So yeah, some people find the thread interesting, and appreciate the guy who pointed out the result. If you don't, no need to read it.
