I agree that we shouldn't throw so many resources into rescuing idiots who get themselves lost out in the wilderness, but to not go out and do shit just because you're scared of something bad happening to you is such a boring way to exist. This is all about pushing limits, and it's being on that knife edge there, being in situations where one wrong move can kill you. there is nothing more exhillarating than watching a storm roll in on top of a mountain and then having to race to get into the trees before the storm gets there. that is called adventure go hike!
