More explanation please.
Dude, you complain about everything. What's new.
Maybe you need better quality marijuolo.
maybe you just have a different sense of humor. i laughed so hard i thought my insides were going to break. now run along and get some oreos.
Borat is funny in short sketches, but i really didn't enjoy the movie half as much as i'd hoped. Good snippets, but hope he doesn't follow it up with a sequal.
I am pretty far from Marijuologist in most of my thinking, but I agree with him on this...
Someone else said it last week, it was almost like he tried to take some things too far, so they lost their appeal.
He is more enjoyable when his sketches are more subtle.
Yeah I saw Borat last night and I agree. It was amusing at times, but I wouldn't really categorize it as a good movie.
Some of the scenes were too long. Take the scene with them wrestling naked. Yeah, it was funny for maybe 30 seconds, but did we really need to see their naked bodies wrestling for what felt like 5 minutes?
Too many people bought into the hype and arrived with unrealistic expectations of quality.

That was the joke, I think.
I thought much of Borat was very smart, but that's just me, a not very intelligent individual.

i don't know what to say other than that I just didn't do a lot of laughing. I guess the sketches are just too ridiculous, even relative to the nature of the film. The character is supposed to be uncultured not f***ing retarded. Now of course it's just a sketch comedy and in the end it's more important for it to be funny than for it to make sense and be believable, but come on...
i guess overall i'd just say a lot of it was really sophomoric... generic toilet humor...
Hysterical on every level. I loved how he shouts at the rodeo "I hope that your President George W Bush drinks the blood of every man, woman and child in Iraq" and then there's a thunderous applause and cheering.
I didn't think it was too funny either. The speaking in toungues was a little funny, but the rest was mainly uncomfortable.
I wasn't offended (it's really hard to offend me), I just didn't think it was very funny either.
Was the Pamela Anderson part scripted? She seemed pretty freaked out, and I don't think she's that good of an actress.
Anderson and Cohen have been friends for years.
I love how they were throwing dollar bills at the roaches.
it was pretty damn funny i thought. kinda sick in some parts but funny nonetheless.
so how much of this movie (and da ali g show sketches) was actually scripted? either way i thought it was funny, but id like to think that most of it wasnt scripted.
Nobody puts that much into a movie that doesn't have a script.
i didn't have any expectations going into the movie since i hadn't heard of borat prior to that. i could be mistaken, but did anyone get the feeling that cohen is an intelligent guy and aside from his crazy antics was also trying to send a political message? after all, he himself is jewish, and parts of the movie he did speak localized hebrew slang, indicating that he was probably even israeli born. and that there was a sort of parallel between his "hometown" in khazakstan and parts of the "u.s. and a" that he encountered in his journey. i think the movie could be seen as a message of cultural ignorance and intolerance.
anyhow, i think that the shock value is through the roof and that some scenes were way overdone, nude scene specifically. other scenes were great. i wouldn't mind watching the movie again.
I thought Borat was hilarious. I was always a fan of Ali G. and Co., so when I heard a Borat movie was coming out, I figured it would be like when SNL extends sketches to film length i.e. Night at The Roxbury. It was far from it.
Another favorite part for the list: After he gets off the RV with the Frat boys, when he throws his bag with the chicken in it.
