She PR'd in the 1000, 1500, mile, 3000, 5K CC, and 6K CC while at Alabama. She also won the regional title and placed top-7 at NCAAs in the 1500. And, of course, she made the semifinals of the Olympic Trials as a freshman in 2021.
As for the team title, if she would have gone to Florida, the Gators would have won. Florida's #5 scored 168 points; Tyynismaa scored 18.
Florida 118, NAU 124, OK State 156, NC State 160.
And she may have been in the Trials this summer again.
No. The opposed position to a DNF is 1st. Parker wrapped up that position. Tyynismaa wasn't going ro beat Parker even if she was her teammate. Better than 18th is where she would have finished.

ha ah and you are absolutely sure of that. I wish I was as smart and knowledgeable as you!
You likely are smart but when emotions take over, people don't think clearly. You have a bias for Tuohy that sometimes causes you to lose your objectivivity. And although you normally provide reasoned posts, when they pertain to Tuohy, you take the low road.

Gee, your mention of Tuohy is the first time her name has entered this thread.
Big fan of Tyynismaa. Wish she would not have went to NC State to be ruined by bad coach who plays favorites. Looking forward to her post collegiate career.
She gave an interview after NCSU completed their 3 peat in cross country this past fall and in her own words said that she was the happiest she has ever been. Does not seem like she has any regrets about transferring. In that same interview it was evident to me that she preferred running for coach Henes as opposed to coach Palmer. She was a vital piece on a national championship team and got to experience one of best team environments in the NCAAs.

I'm not saying she regretted her decision or that she wasn't happy at NC Stat. I am only saying from strictly a running performance perspective, she performed better, much better, under Palmer. After running 4:09 as a freshman, I feel she should have been able to go sub-4:04 this year and make the finals at the Trials. Probably top-8 or higher. But let's face it, she's not going to be a professional runner, anyway. She might dabble a bit for a year or two but she's not going to make a living doing it. Like nearly all NCAA track athletes, she will take her degree and go do something with it. She is never going to challenge for a spot on a World/Olympic team.

She should have gone to NAU like Carlson, Baloga, Churchill. They all said no to Valby and choose elsewhere. Deal with it. You most likely lose Valby to the pros , you have a great recruiting class, move on sore loser. NAU will beat Florida anyway.
Amaris is glowingly happy where she’s at. Disappointed she’s not with coach smith but she doesn’t regret it and would make the same decision again.

The 4:09 was her sophomore year and she never even broke 4:18 the next year after an injury during XC. It's not like she was living some injury free/constantly improving existence under Palmer
Plus her best finish at a Track Nationals is the 4th place last spring in the 5k at NC State. Her 4:09 year at Alabama she was 7th at nationals.

When she finishes at state, assuming she's healthy and capable of her 4:09/15:30 pbs, she will definitely give pro running some shot. She's sitting on a gift of talent, so certainly capable of another level of improvement with consistent healthy training.
I also wouldn't be surprised if she remained in the sport as a coach.
The speculation folks seem to like to throw out there is a bit odd to me. PARTICULARY, when as you mentioned, she said in her own interview that she truly wanted to go to NC State, and is incredibly happy.
