I think they should have the elite races on a different day than the masses. What's the point of having the two races on the same day? It just adds chaos and confusion to the elite runners who've been preparing months for this.
I'm just praying for a safe, disturbance free race. There are some things to be worried about today. Radical left wing pro-Palestinian groups have promised an economic blockade (i.e. stopping traffic in major cities) today. This race in particular, because of its past, is always something to worry about.

Hannah Storm looks great at 61. / You'd think after all this concentrated coverage on the wheelchair races, that by 9:35 we could stay with the runners.
Romanchuck started right on Hug, and then it looks like in the second or third mile Hug just opened up a massive lead on him? The coverage (which was great last year) missed the separation when it happened.
This race shuts down the major roads in most of the 8 cities and towns. Hopkinton is completely closed down, Framingham and Natick get divided into two halves, and the course runs by/through the town centers of Natick, Wellesley, and Newton City Hall.
After COVID, the police departments along the course asked the running clubs to stop doing Hopkinton long runs on the course. On Charity Sunday, there were thousands out there.
All right guys I'm stuck in the office today so I'm hoping for lots of detailed updates in this thread. Usually following this thread is better than watching the sh*tty coverage anyway.

I really think the WMM should have one super wheelchair race a year. They don't need one at every major. There are so few wheelchair racers to begin with, it's a logistical nightmare to close the roads just for them and they already get way too much tv time given the interest.

Smarter people than you in charge of bigger financial decisions have chosen otherwise.
