Prague 2018 - Rupp wins (just weeks after he had dropped from Boston), Lemma 2nd
Tokyo Olympics 2021 - Rupp 8th, Lemma DNF
Rupp would have won today.. he is undefeated 3-0 against Lemma

We are talking about prime marathon Rupp from 2016/17 to 2021. Not that I disagree but in his current shape I think its not unreasonable to say he would've lost on the day sadly.

2021 doesn't count because Lemma DNF and the others were many years ago when RUpp was in his prime. Speaking of DNF Rupp had a few of his own. This thread is pointless

That's interesting and I wonder if it crossed Rupp's mind after watching Lemma get the victory.

Lemma won London, Boston, and Valencia his personal best is 4+ minutes better than Rupp and both PRs are on course that are conducive to fast times. As a marathoner solely which is Lemma's only real event in the sport he is better than Galen Rupp. Not only that but he's been consistently showing up and improving.
