Does everyone connect this training to the Norwegians because of Jakob? This type of training wasn’t that unusual 25 years ago even I did it. We would to 15x1k, 20 x 400 etc in the late 90’s
That is true, any type of movement should clear lactate faster which is something Daniels illustrated a long time ago.
However, it comes with the cost of an elevated heart rate, so it is a tradeoff.
Extra smartypants points if you can explain to the audience how the lactate is cleared any why?
I believe Daniel basically says that when you move, the blood flows faster throughout your body and your organs work more efficiently, so that the lactase acid in your blood is able to be more readily absorbed by your liver adn broken down and flushed out of your system

Yes, some of the lactate is sent to the liver. It is then re-converted to glyogen. If you walk for recovery, most of the lactate will be cleared this way. If you run during the recovery, more lactate is used as fuel for the muscles during the recovery run/jog.
Don't ask which is more beneficial though, I think walking slowly or jogging during recovery between efforts are useful in different ways.
lol... when they start giving awards based on blood lactate levels you might get something, but for now it's all done by the clock, so you should use that.
