I went through 4 year of med school, 3 years of internal medicine residency, 3 years of cardiology fellowship, and another 2 years of interventional cardiology fellowship. If I don't take offense to coaches using the word "prescribe," you probably shouldn't either.
What I really "love" are "adults" who "need" another "adult" to tell them "how" to "run." What, were you struggling with getting down "right-left-right-left" every time? No wonder you warrant a "prescription."
I understand group runs as a social thing, but at this point anyone interested in a running program can just do a little online research and learn the basics.

One wouldn’t think you’d get so easily triggered. It’s just a thread on a running forum.
Inspired by the running in place at stoplights thread.
They took a two day certification course and act like it’s a Medical Degree 😂😂😂
It's fine that you don't respect your coach, but it says more about your life choices than it does about the respectability of our coaches.
Because of its low barrier to entry Running coach is one of those when all else fails kind of jobs. Most of the NYRR coaches are former actors and writers who got tired of starving.
if they can get someone to pay for this service, fine, but I don’t see why I should respect it.

Boulder sees a lot of this, too. There's far greater benefit in the training partners than in the overwrought particulars of some training plan. Has-beens and now never-wases building personal brand identities around perceptions of value in their proprietary services. P.T. Barnum-approved snake oil salesmen. One notable epitome of this was gifted two established elites and served them up DNFs at the OT. Total waste of time and money. Nice work if you can get it, amirite?
