What the actual f**k? Who is paying $80 for a running hat? $180 for some ugly running shorts? $90 for Merino wool beanie?
I guess you pay $310 for a hydration vest when that $180 Salomon S-Lab just isn't cutting it anymore....Or $270 for a merino wool tee when the $65 one from Duckworth (which uses 100% All American grown wool and manufacturing so spare me the "slave labor" BS for that company) just isn't enough....
Duckworth is selling you a $69 “merino” tee that is only 38% merino. The rest is poly and modal. Further that merino is US wool which is inferior and probably higher micron than any other merino wool you can source. That’s why they are blending it with man made petrochemical yarns to make it wearable. You can find a 100% New Zealand merino tee in 18.5 micron for around $100. Duckworth is fleecing people at $69.
Satisfy tee is 100% optimo wool from Japan and is cut sewn and hand dyed in Japan leading to the increased cost. Further Satisfy is wholesaling their product meaning they need to layer in another mark up.
I don’t buy their merino stuff because I don’t think merino is frankly a good fabric to run in but again you get what you pay for.
I guarantee that Duckworth is getting higher margin for that tee than Satisfy is on a maintained basis. The great thing is you don’t have to care about any of this.

Their $330 button down shirt is 100% merino, 710gsm and still 100% American made. I've worn that thing standalone in single digit weather.
Your Satisy running tshirt is $60 cheaper and Japanese made. Talk about getting fleeced. $270 for a running t-shirt. Gtfo.
$310 for a hydration vest? Sh*t, you can find people online who will make you that same one for a lot less. Custom made, same features, same fabric.
Obviously not enough people with Tracksmith going bankrupt.
I really wanted a sash tank when Tracksmith first came out. Thankfully I never bought one.
I wear Vuori shorts now $58-60 and try to only get them on sale. I’ve had the same 3 pairs for a few years and they are great. No wear, no smell, and just a little fading.
I would not pay over $100 for shorts and I rarely wear a shirt to run. I have one nice Lululemon long sleeve that I only got because I got a gift card.

Inflation made those $110 shorts only like $70 from a few years ago. It's not as bad as it sounds. Not that I am buying it but I am sure same people buying $200 yoga pants.
People who leave their parents basements and work a job - that’s who…
Actually, it's because I left my parent's basement and work a job that I don't pay those prices. I work hard for my money, I know what a dollar is worth, and I refuse to spend indiscriminately.
