3.59.X first mile, 3.54.X second mile - just from watching it live.
7.24.07 (from memory) popped up with around 200m to go - I guess that would be the 3000m split because 30 seconds for the last 220m looked about right as he definitely lifted his pace.
Race analysis on the DL website says 7:23.8 at 3k, actually insane
i wonder what his last 3000m were. he did close very fast

a 354 mile after a sub 4 mile is absolutely insane. like I cant even fathom that....
Wow. I thought maybe he could get 7:57 on a great day. He hardly had a pacer between 1400m-2k, the guy was so far out in front of him (I thought it was cool that the pacer beckoned Jakob towards himself before he stepped off though). He still absolutely crushed it, that last lap was beautiful; Looking back with 200 to go, seeing he was far ahead of the lights, then speeding up anyway.
Oslo is a 1,500. And Coffee Club boys have been saying Jakob is going after WR for weeks. So might not have to wait long.
Exactly, he’s going to hold the 1500 and 5000 wr by the end of the season. Jakob is moving from an all time great to the Goat this season…..buckle up.
I thought there was no shot he'd get the 1500, but it looks like he's got a serious shot now. 3:26 is way stronger than 7:58, but 7:54 is better than the 3k record. I've always thought the 1500 was tougher than 7:20, but now it looks like we're getting the most perfect comparison possible in Oslo. Before I thought he was almost definitely not getting the WR in Oslo, but now I'm reassessing.
Let's say he gets the 1500m record. He's already got the 2 mile record, and it converts to faster than the 3k record. The 1500m record is better than the mile record. Seems like that'd mean he could get WRs in the 3k and mile if the pacing duties fall into place. 5k WR seems like a big ask for a miler, but he's the reigning world champ and his 12:48 pb is 2 years old now.
If he sets the 1500m record, this season is going to go down as one of the greatest of all time. If he breaks 1500-5k (very very big if), how many people could even argue they were better?
