He did say he wouldn’t mess with another event until he set the World Record…but now all options are on the table.
And I think that if there's anyone to beat Jakob in 3k or 5k it's Girma.
Lamecha is not like the other Ethiopian runners. He is consistent.
He even was bright at the high level at the age 18 in Doha 2019.
You have it the wrong way around.
If there's anyone to beat Girma (or El Bakkali) in the steeple, it's JI.
Let's see Girma get more confidence and better trainings and you will see your Jakob crumbling like a building.
As I wrote before he was brighter at a high level before Jakob.
Girma needs some english lessons though. Couldn't understand anything except "happy"...

Is this a Viking or Valhalla arrogance

And what's you issue with that in a buggy site who ban you for posting links if you are away for some weeks.
It's not my kind to play "hide and seek".
I don't even know how to post anonymously.

well girma isn't great on barriers and Jakob is faster on the 3000m. Jakob also did run some 3000st when younger. So I do think Jakob would beat girma in the steeple.
With Jakob speed and Bakkali technique you have a 7:45. So 7:52 is still quite soft compared to others WRs
This run seems the most legit of today's records.
Honestly contrary to the results of the polls here before the meet I expected this one and not the other 2. That insane indoor 3000m which he backed up in his debut outdoors this year is quite a bit faster than others who specialize in the steeple have gone over the flat distance, I thought this one was in the bag.
your answer...

Is a 7:23 indoor 3k breaking a Daniel Komen's "mount everest" record a joke to you???? That's faster flat speed than Jakob has shown...

7:23.81 Indoor by Girma stacks up pretty well against that 7:24.00 split I'd say. Hopefully they go head to head for the WR

Jakob ran 7:21 for the last 3000m of his 2-mile WR. Gotta think he could go 7:18 if the race was 3000m. 7:23.81 is great but it does not 'stacks up pretty well'.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
