This is it folks. You have seen peak Jakob. He may maintain for a few years but you have seen the best of him. No shame in that either as he is great. He is great for the sport. But he has stopped improving. No surprise there of course.
This post is only 3 months old but boy, it has already aged like a blue cheese left in a sweaty sauna hasn't it?

The OP nailed it. Jakob is no longer improving. He will never run faster than he has in 2023. This is his peak.
OP said that we'd 'seen the best of him' at the end of May. Since then he's smashed his 1500 PR twice, destroyed 2 world records, and knocked 3 seconds off his mile PR (third fastest of all time and a whisker away from another world record). So I ask you...in what sense did OP 'nail it'?

Oh they downvoted you. They mocked you. But you nailed it. You absolutely nailed it.

Really nailed it
The OP did nail it. Mo Farah ran 3:28 in Monaco. Jakob has stopped improving. What you see is advancements in track and shoe tech, and maybe tweaks to the doping. Jakob stopped improving over a year ago. He cannot win the big one.
